La clé de tout ça ? Un firmware custom baptisé [OmniDrive](https://github.com/RibShark/OmniDrive), installé sur certains lecteurs Blu-ray du commerce.**\n\n### Un firmware qui change la donne\n\nJusqu'ici, dumper ses jeux Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube ou Wii impliquait presque systématiquement de passer par une console modée, avec tout ce que cela comporte comme contraintes matérielles et juridiques. OmniDrive prend le problème à l'envers : plutôt que de modifier la console, c'est le lecteur optique qui est modifié. OmniDrive propose deux versions du firmware, une pour les lecteurs internes classiques et une pour les modèles externes/slim.\n\nCôté consoles, GameCube, Wii, Xbox original et Xbox 360 sont les grandes gagnantes de cette compatibilité, avec des dumps décryptés directement exploitables en émulation. La Dreamcast est également supportée, mais uniquement pour la zone basse densité du GD-ROM. The key to all this? A custom firmware called [OmniDrive](https://github.com/RibShark/OmniDrive), flashed onto certain off-the-shelf Blu-ray drives.**\n\n### A firmware that changes everything\n\nUntil now, dumping Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube or Wii games almost always meant going through a modded console, with all the hardware and legal constraints that come with it. OmniDrive flips the problem on its head: instead of modifying the console, it's the optical drive that gets modified.
