After 20 games played with passion since 10 months, the very first season of the Recalbox One Credit Challenge has come to an end—and what a success it has been! A season filled with incredible performances, exciting game discoveries, impressive 1CC achievements, and above all, an amazing atmosphere shared by arcade enthusiasts.

As a reminder, this challenge brings the Recalbox community together around a new arcade game every two weeks. Players compete to post their highest score and earn points based on their ranking, which accumulate throughout the season. Clearing the game on a single credit (1CC) awards bonus points.

The First Champion Is Crowned

A huge congratulations to VGRdaftpunk, who claimed victory in dominant fashion and earned the very first star in the history of the One Credit Challenge. An outstanding season marked by remarkable consistency and numerous victories. Congratulations to the inaugural champion of the competition!

As a reminder, the winner of each individual challenge (each game) received a game key (GOG, Steam, etc.). As the overall season champion, VGRdaftpunk also wins their choice of an RGB Dual 2 or a one-year Patreon membership.

An Incredible Community

A huge thank you to the 45 players who took part in this first edition by submitting at least one score. They brought this challenge to life and proved once again that the retro gaming community is as passionate as ever.

With an average of 18 players per challenge, the turnout exceeded all expectations for a first season. We'd also like to highlight the fantastic community spirit: friendly banter, helpful tips to improve together, and players of every skill level welcomed with open arms, regardless of their setup (arcade cabinet, CRT, HDTV, handheld console, and more). We hope you'll join us next season!
