You probably already know that you can support Recalbox on Patreon. Your support allows the Recalbox team to dedicate time to the project, deliver new features, and ensure long-term maintenance and improvements. This support gives Patrons many benefits: early access to versions and updates, optimized scraping, exclusive music playlists and themes, collector RecalCards… But for the past few months, we’ve decided to go even further by creating exclusive content on Patreon, designed specifically for our Patrons. Here’s what you can expect when you join the adventure.

Every month, Patrons receive a dedicated newsletter covering both retrogaming news and Recalbox updates. Real content created for enthusiasts who want to stay up to date with the project and the broader retrogaming scene, with in-depth insights into the retro universe and what’s happening behind the scenes.

We’ve launched “Inside” reports, including a recent video series with digitalLumberjack to take you behind the scenes of development. Software, hardware, technical directions, design choices… The goal of these videos is simple: to show you where we stand, with the level of detail a community as involved as yours deserves.

Before new features are fully documented and made available to everyone, Patrons get early access. To support this, we provide exclusive explanations and tutorials, so you can discover, test, and master upcoming features ahead of their public release.

This is probably the most direct benefit: roughly every two months (depending on Recalbox news), we organize a video meeting between Patrons and the Recalbox team. It’s an opportunity to review project progress, answer Patrons’ questions live, and gather feedback on concrete topics. Your input matters and is valuable to us, which is why we regularly give the floor to the Patron community.
These benefits are recent and will continue to evolve. The idea is to build this adventure together with you — an active, informed community that takes part in the journey and helps shape decisions. Please note that Recalbox is and will remain free and open source for everyone. If you want a front-row seat to the adventure, this is the place.
