Bring your JVS cabinet back to life.
A plug-and-play Raspberry Pi 5 HAT made for JVS arcade cabinets: five cables, a few minutes, and the whole Recalbox library in your cabinet.
This is a pre-order: delivery is expected in December 2026.

The standard
JVS, the arcade standard of the last 25 years.
Introduced in the late 1990s, JVS came with a new generation of cabinets. Where JAMMA relied on a 56-pin analogue connector, inputs are handled by an IOBoard and sent digitally over RS-485; the system is expandable and natively supports steering wheels, light guns and multiplayer setups. Many of these machines are now orphaned from their original hardware: that is the problem the Recalbox JVS solves.

Your cabinet
Made for the cabinets that run JVS.
The vast majority of “modern” arcade cabinets use this standard. The cabinet is detected automatically, and setup takes a few steps, right on its screen.

What it does
Plug it in, power it on, play.
Connect it in place of your cabinet's original system and enjoy the whole Recalbox experience: 2D and 3D arcade, Naomi, Atomiswave, Dreamcast, consoles and home computers.

Every JVS peripheral
Sticks, racecab steering wheels, guncab light guns and multiplayer setups, handled natively.
24-bit RGB DAC
With dedicated buffers, and automatic 15, 24 and 31 kHz video compatibility.
HDMI for LCD cabinets
An HDMI output for cabinets fitted with an LCD screen.
I²S audio DAC
Sound up to 384 kHz / 32-bit.
Under 1 ms of input lag
Between the controls of your cabinet and the game.
Standalone firmware
From the cabinet's screen: watch the +5V and +12V voltages live, test the controls, the picture and the sound, and read the playtime counter.
240pGrid
A 15 kHz look on a 31 kHz screen.
For cabinets that only do 31 kHz, 240pGrid reproduces the look of a 15 kHz CRT, scanlines and pixel geometry included. With a Vewlix or a Noir Cabinet, Metal Slug and Street Fighter II look the way they deserve.

Link Mode
Two cabinets, one Recalbox JVS.
Link Mode drives two JVS cabinets with a single Recalbox JVS. Each cabinet keeps its own video output, its own audio output and its own IOBoard: 1 vs 1 on fighting games, or up to four players at once.
