HyperMegaTech! and Rare have just announced the Super Pocket Rare Edition, a vertical handheld console preloaded with 14 classics from the British studio. The big surprise? Banjo-Kazooie, the legendary N64 game, optimized to run using the D-pad. This seventh iteration of the Super Pocket line will launch in June 2026 at a price of £49.99 / $69.99 / €59.99.
The selection spans Rare’s entire history, from the Ultimate Play The Game era to its 64-bit productions. It includes home computer gems like Jetpac, Atic Atac and Knight Lore, NES classics such as Cobra Triangle and Snake Rattle 'n' Roll, both Battletoads titles (NES and SNES), and even Conker's Pocket Tales on Game Boy Color. But it’s Banjo-Kazooie that steals the spotlight, marking the first appearance of a 64-bit game on a Super Pocket.

Playing Banjo-Kazooie without an analog stick might seem unusual, but HyperMegaTech! says the game has been specifically reworked for this console. This optimized version is expected to adapt the controls to the D-pad while preserving the original experience. A bold move that could redefine the way we revisit this 3D platforming classic.
Like all Super Pocket systems, this Rare edition features a cartridge slot compatible with the Evercade ecosystem. This means access to more than 650 additional games through the 75+ cartridges currently available. The 2.8-inch IPS screen (320×240), battery life of over 4 hours, and USB-C charging round out a package designed for gaming on the go. Pre-orders are now open, with delivery scheduled for June 2026.
